For the Pristine Gasification Series EPA certified wood furnaces to achieve a 99% combustion efficiency, Crown Royal Stoves had to take a new approach to air flow. Instead of “pushing” the air from the top, we decided to “pull” fresh air from the bottom, creating a Negative Pressure Gasification System.

When the outdoor wood furnace is completely sealed, the air is “pulled” downward, forcing all gasses from the Firebox through the ash bed into the Secondary Combustion Chamber where temperatures will exceed 2000 ℉ for a complete 99% combustion burn. The air is then directed up through water surrounded heat exchanger with easy clean turbulators. This makes the system virtually smokeless, with lower exhaust temperatures at the chimney, and allows wood placement to be more forgiving.

This system has major advantages over competitors "pushing" of firebox gasses. With fresh air being pushed, the firebox smoke and gasses are pushed against all gaskets and sealing surfaces. This can lead to rapid deterioration of seals, excess creosote buildup, and smoke leaking past any poorly sealed mating surfaces. The natural pulling of air makes Crown Royal Stove design improve the life of gaskets and reduces hard creosol buildup. When reloading with a negative pressure wood furnace, you will experience significantly less smoke and has less risk of fire escaping through an open door.
